Who: The Forgotten Forty is comprised of the 40% of voters who do not identify with one of the two major political parties. These individuals might be members of one of the many third parties that dot the political landscape, or true Independents without a party to call their own.
What: The Forgotten Forty is a coalition of individuals who are dedicated to the political process and the continuation of the philosophy and works brought about by the Enlightenment. It is an informal organization, operated by volunteers, and maintained through limited funding.
Why: The Forgotten Forty has recognized the difficulty our current political system has had in adapting to the nation’s contemporary demographics, and the disinterest in utilizing modern technology. Only new ideas from alternative viewpoints will help alleviate these issues.
When: The Forgotten Forty must begin to enact changes to the political paradigm immediately. Waiting for the existing two-party system to react is an exercise in futility. Only by taking direct and active action against the established status-quo can any true change come to fruition.
How: The Forgotten Forty can achieve its goals by unifying disparate voters through shared values and common vision. By recognizing the overlap in the beliefs held by most Citizens, constituents will finally be able to receive the representation they both want and deserve from their elected officials.
